We had the honor of teaching bible study, children are very smart, hungry and thirsty for the Word of God, there are a lot of things that they wanted to know and lots of things that they did not know. We watched a video “are you a fan or follower of Jesus”? Then they were asked were they a fan or follower? The children were very honest as they all replied that they were fans, we talked about why were they fans and not followers, many of them replied that they just couldn’t get it right or they just weren’t ready to fully committ and they wanted to have fun, we respected all of their answers because they struggled with many things especially peer pressure, we talked about sin, and there were many things that the children did in their every day life that they didn’t know were sins, (for example: mumbling under their breaths, talking back, tuning adults out, walking away from authority and etc. )we encouraged them to search out sin in their bibles and on the internet. They were excited about this and said that they would search the internet and the scriptures.
We also told them that unless they are saved they will not make it to heaven and hell is real, they had concerned expressions on their faces and said that they didn’t want to go to hell so we asked if they died tonight without Jesus being their Saviour that is where they would go, none of the children were ready to give their lives to God, but we are praying that God pricks their hearts.
One of the children asked, why do I have to be a follower of Jesus when adults that say they are saved are doing things that I know for a fact saved people should not be doing? Wow!!! Never would we have thought to hear this, but it was a great question
ATTENTION!!!! adults, parents, leaders, mentors, and people of God if our children are seeing or hearing you cussing, drinking, lying, sleeping around, sexting, cheating, partying or whatever then we need to get it right because you are hindering their walks and God is going to call you into accountability, if you are doing one thing at church and when you get home or where ever these children may see you committing these acts we should be ashamed. I remember hearing Bishop David S. Beacham saying that children will tell on you if they see you do anything, he was so right.
Family this grieved me to hear a child say this but I have to let you all know I will not compromise neither will I be quiet if I know that you’re not doing what you are supposed to do (and you should do the same for me), I will come to you in love and see what is going on and what is causing you to sin. I am not a person that will sweep sin under the carpet and act as though it is not happening. James 5:16 -17,Therefore confess your sins one to another and pray for one another so that yu may be healed. the effective fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. Matthew 18:115-17, If your brother sins go and show him/her their fault in private: if he/she listens to you, you have won your brother/sister, if he/she does not listen to you take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. If he/refuse to listen to them tell it to the church, and if he/she refuse to listen even to the church, let him be to us as Gentile and tax collectors.
God is exposing us, judgment begins in the household of God (1 Peter 4:17). Ananias and Sapphira both dropped dead for lying when they didn’t have to lie, (Acts 5:1-11, Peter asked Ananias “How has satan so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit? You have not lied to men but to God) another verse goes on to say and after Ananias and Sapphira dropped dead “great fear seized the wholechurch and all who heard about these events. family only a person who has the Holy Spirit can do the good God requires of us.
We told the children that we should pray for the people or persons who is doing anything contrary to the word of God, because we want them to get it right and we all fall short, but we must not continue in sin. 2 Timothy 2:24, the Lords bond servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
We also let the children know that because someone else is doing wrong it doesn’t give us the excuse not to do right. Family, we need to realize that Jesus values children, He forbids us to not hinder them, He even goes on to tell us unless we come to Him as a child we can not enter into the kingdom.
Remember you are just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread. We are not to condemn.
Family don’t forget “Somebodies watching YOU”!!!.
Forever His Servant
