1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, Love is patient, love is Kind, it does not boast, its is not proud, it is not rude, it is not-self seeking, it is not easily angered it keeps no record of wrongs, love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth, it always trust, always hopes, alway perseveres, love never fails.
Read this statement that one of my friends on face book made: If we truly loved one another, then the killing fields would be barren, and satan would have no means in dividing the house of God and God’s people. How true and profound, this statement says to me that we are not loving each other the way that God says too, because if we are then there would be no division among the church and Christians. If we say we have love, why are we failing?
People of God, the bible declares in Psalm 127:1 Except the Lord builds a house, they labor in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh but in vain. The bible also goes on to declare in Mark 3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house can not stand. So what these scriptures are saying to us is that if we are doing all the building without love it is nothing to God.
See you can have someone build a house for you, but if that house is not built on a firm foundation of love that house won’t last. Okay suppose you hire a contractor to build you a new home, the contractor has a reputation of being a great builder, he’s timely, he uses all the right products he doesn’t cut corners but his attitude is terrible, he’s ruthless, he’s a tyrant and he works his workers unmercifully, he’s bitter, he snaps at you for the least thing, no one can tell him anything, he unapproachable, he eats lunch alone and he has no friends, he might be a great builder and may do a great job, but his house (heart) has no love in it. So why are we failing in Love?
I’m reminded of the Five Heartbeats singing “A heart is a house for love, and I’ve learned that it don’t take much to build it up. So family, if we don’t have love then how can we say that we are Christians? It doesn’t take much to build up a house and it doesn’t take much to tear one down either. So why are we failing in love?
Pastor David Thompson says fellowship does not represent an organization or a group, it represents the relationship between the believer and God and among believers: Fellowship should produce perfect unity among church members. So if this statement is true Why is there so much division in the house of God and why are we failing in love?
Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech on June 16, 1858 about a house divided, he said I believe the government can not endure permanently half slave and half free, I do not expect the union to be dissolved, I do not expect the house to fall, but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other. Wow!!
Luke 11:17, Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined and a house divided against itself will fall. If satan is divided against himself how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub.
Family you see satan does not attack his own, he attacks Christians and have them to conquer and divide each other, you don’t let sister Suzy sing because she sings better than you, you don’t let Brother Mark cook because he cooks & bbq’s better than you, you don’t let Brother John teach because you think he teaches better than you, you want all the accolades, and that’s not of God, see some of us do things to be seen. There is someone that always does something better than us, that’s a trick of the enemy for us to be divided, but God wants to use all of us, we should be one in the spirit, we can learn from each other if we love like the bible tells us to.
We are many members but one body. Each member has a part and when we come together there is strength. So my question again is Why are we failing in love? Why are we attacking each other?
Have you ever seen the people of Habitat Housing build a home? Everybody pitches in and gets the job done, because they love God, they love what they are doing and they love the families in which they are doing the job for. This is what love does, it makes you go above and beyond the call of duty. The Christ in you makes you always reach towards heaven and do the right thing and your labor is not in vain.
United we stand divided we fall.
